Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Parking Alert ("we", "the app") helps drivers avoid parking tickets and tows. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have.
Information We Collect
- Account information. Your email address and display name, used to sign you in and save your parking history.
- Location data. Your device location is used to detect nearby parking zones, alert you when you enter one, and help you find your parked car. Location is monitored in the background only while you have granted permission, and is used to trigger local alerts on your device.
- Parking activity. Timers you start, zones you submit or verify, and reports you make (such as tow-truck sightings) so the community can benefit from them.
- Photos. If you choose to take a photo of your parking spot or a parking sign, it is stored on your device. Photos attached to zone submissions are uploaded so they can be reviewed.
- Diagnostics. Crash and error reports to help us fix problems.
How We Use Your Information
- To send you parking-zone and countdown alerts
- To show community parking data such as time limits and tow reports
- To maintain your account, premium status, and parking credits
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability
Advertising
The free version of Parking Alert shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob, which you may choose to watch to earn parking credits. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve ads. On iOS, we ask your permission before any tracking occurs, and you may decline — you can still earn credits either way. You can read Google's policy at policies.google.com. Premium subscribers see no ads.
Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase — account sign-in, database, and storage
- Google AdMob — advertising (free tier only)
- RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management
- Sentry — crash reporting
- Expo — push notification delivery
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Zone submissions, verifications, votes, and tow reports are shared with other users as community data, shown under your display name.
Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account. Go to Profile → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your account and profile data and cannot be undone.
- Location. You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Zone detection will stop working, but the rest of the app continues to function.
- Notifications. You may disable notifications in your device settings or in the app's profile screen.
- Tracking. You may decline app tracking on iOS and change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Children's Privacy
Parking Alert is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
